Basant Mahotsav at Bengali Club, Lucknow 31st March 2024.
“Basant Utsav”, a festival that heralds the arrival of spring, carrying with it the richness of art, prosperity, education and beauty, was started by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and his prestigious institution, Santiniketan in West Bengal. This celebration of renewal of nature has been celebrated On the road with Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan. Successful attempts to revive it were made by the Bengali Club and Youngmen's Association. Chief guest Mrs. Bulbul Munshi inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and wished all the invited guests for the festival. Local artists Sharmistha Tiwari, Snigdha, Enakhi Sinha, Sonali Roy enthralled the audience with the first presentation of the program by Banga Gaurav Gurudev's composition 'Moder Gorob Moder Asha'.
Dance performances based on Rabindra Sangeet, under the direction of Pratibha Banerjee, director of the artist organization "Palak Cultural Discussion Center", who came from Bata Nagar, West Bengal, engaged all the guests adding grace to the occasion. Brishti Bhattacharya and Tulsi Yadav mesmerised all with Rabindra Nritya while paying tribute to Gurudev and recitation of poetry by Smt. Pradipta Sen, Swapan Bhattacharya and Sonali Roy added charm to the programme. Through "Ore Phagun Lage Mone Mone" again Sharmistha Tiwari, Snigdha and Deboshree Banerjee took to the stage and presented many melodious songs which were highly appreciated. Most of the guests present at the club graced the event by wearing spring clothes, welcoming the spring season and encouraging everyone.
